Assault on Iron Spire Island Background: ISI is an island off the coast of the Feral Shore. It has a shitload of zombies swarming the island, a weird imposing eponymous iron tower, and at least some other being (dressed in white robes IIRC) on the central buildings. Requirements: Going after this has been James Aulds's baby, so he has to be present at any assault. We'll need at least one cleric, if not more (to deal with the shitloads of undead. We will need to cost-out equipping the Golden Barge with weaponry and bringing archers and marines on board. Initial Plan: shore bombardment using the Golden Barge (ballistae and catapults, archers firing volleys) to thin out the horde and keep them distracted. When the horde is at manageable levels, begin exploring island (or revamp plan if offshore bombardment causes hostile forces to activate).

Since it's not technically an attack, we might be able to sneak him behind the enemy battle lines and sweet-talk the mammoths into defecting (even before dropping charms on them during the battle).

Radomir's downtime activity: (1) Get the insect box we stole from the noble's tent a number of sessions ago identified. Perhaps we can pay 100 GP from group funds? (2) Chaska Clan relocation plan stage 3. Radomir will employ his new 2nd level spell Radomir's Pocket Climate to provide the bedroom area of the upper level with the climate of a tropical jungle (duration 1 week). If the old man complains, he will suggest gently that perhaps his troubles are some kind of (no doubt underserved) punishment for his oft mentioned inappropriate relations in the tower. (3) Eventually, I really want to learn magic mouth. Can princess Zuzu teach that to me? No lair can be constructed without numerous magical mouths. (4) Valdemar will probably be poring over the family history books. If Valdemar needs help, I will pitch in as well.

So with the random murder of the entire badgerman patrol plus plans to commit ethnic cleansing (again) now that negotiations have been utterly torpedoed, I'm starting to feel like we've shifted gears from being inspired by The Eyes of the Overworld to like King Leopold's Ghost or something. And while I can see the dark humor in the entire business, it's really not what I want to stay up late playing through.

For continuing discussion of campaign goals + what we'd like to see in the next upcoming months, per discussion last night. I've been trying to isolate what I want from exploration. I think that part of what I'm looking for is the opportunity to have broader goals in exploration beyond "what is in this hex." Trekking through the wilderness to find a given thing (like the Cup of Radegast or the source of a river or something) clicks for me in a way that meandering around doesn't. (This is why I'd been suggesting having NPC explorers around - to search around and find the big things that we could then go after. It seemed like this option wasn't to most people's tastes, though, which is legit.)  Anthony Picaro had brought up concerns about the matrix resolution of downtime actions, particularly (and correct me if my rephrasing is inaccurate please) the difficulty of gauging when a plan was deemed sufficient for a matrix resolution.  Did I miss any ot...

We cannot win in a direct engagement, our supplies are going to last only so long, and I don't think the fort is that secure. Humza Kazmi Shifting response over here as I've no desire to post in a semi-public thread at present. Lazzaro has a fairly diverse array of utility magic in scroll form. Currently able to let go of Enlarge, Hold Portal, Protection from Evil, and Knock if such are needed to increase party member versatility. As far as what's memorized, Stinking Cloud might disable an encounter but beyond that will have to get more creative. Could also start working up a Summon & Bind Minor Sandestin after returning to base if such a thing can be taught.

I'm starting this thread so we'll have a place to work on the details of the Manzabucks scheme, developing the catalog, maintaining stock, etc. I think the grotmen are starting to get a little suspicious - my rough outline is that we should start buying and keeping a small stock of standard goods in kezmarok and keep them locked up in the dam; in addition to bribing the Grotmen and other rubes with them, we can both use draw on them ourselves if we need them and also sell them to settlers and guards for Manzabucks (which we can dole out as need be) in order to cut down on our operating costs and manipulate public opinion. I am not in favor of giving the Grotmen actual weapons, especially given how eager they are to ask for them; they can just keep tying pieces of broken pottery to sharps sticks if they want weapons. I think we should block print some pictorial "catalogs" with fixed (but inflation-sensitive) manzabuck prices. Maybe we can get Orwendill to make illustra...

Chris Kutalik are there any good titles still outstanding to buy for Gurgi? Contemplating some spending for extravagances.
