TERMEX v1.5 Life Journal Post 142907

TERMEX v1.5 Life Journal Post 142907  #motherfactory    -latest upgrade took sometime to recover from - hope v1.6 is quicker reboot time     --awoke to find tolerable flesh-bags had engaged in a war with less tolerable flesh-bags      ---upon reboot found flesh-bags needed to use this unit as a lightning rod as they provided me with a sword and requested i mumble some gibberish to attract said storm.         ----not sure what the Mother Factory has planned here, but clearly these flesh-bags cannot be left alone if things do not get better soon may have to utilize poisonous gas protocol #619487-21 ALL ASSES.

A reminder that I will be in San Diego next week and consequently there will be no game.

A reminder that I will be in San Diego next week and consequently there will be no game. However I can do some limited play by post so here's your current Grugach Invasion situation report and a new development.  Your forces (all survivors currently concentrated at the Dam): 50 pikemen 6 walking wet 50 fire-dwarves Grugach (in the hex south of the Dam looting pikemen bodies): Blue Horde (now assimilating part of the Black): 500? New Development: On the morning following the slaughter in the woods, you spot a small party of Blue Grugach riding cautiously up the lake shore. They dump a mutilated Grotman who stumbles over to the black pylon in a daze. Painted all over his back in now surplus Black Horde body paint is an elaborate rebus message presumably to the party.  Though crude you can kind of make out: 1. The top line shows Grugach warriors wiping their brows and looking tired because of their exertion.  2. EDIT A middle line showing the Nine represented in cartoonish exaggeratio
Happy birthday Manzaparker. May psycho elf hordes not trample your lifeless body.

Hi, just curious as I read the post about having a large group on your next game.

Hi, just curious as I read the post about having a large group on your next game. How well does hangout work for more than 5 or 6 people? What is the largest group you have tried so far? Thanks and glad to see this game more popular than ever & long running

Chris Kutalik Two things: First, I've written up "complete" versions of Phantasmal Force / Improved Phantasmal Force / Spectral Force for reference: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1SbA2zSCxmXdpFVZBzDRtyjT3gEsKsIDiY2wWHxOCjRQ/edit?usp=sharing   Second, we need to clarify how to monsters part of Phantasmal Force works. Looking at the AEC, the 1e PHB and DMG, and Chainmail, here's what I can determine: the creature(s) in the illusion can be easily 'popped' (hence the AC 9), disappearing after any damage. Those who fail their SV, however, consider the monsters real and take illusory damage that can render them unconscious (believing themselves dead). I presume this unconsciousness persists for the length of the spell.

The situation at the Y currently:

The situation at the Y currently: A day has passed since last session's battle (you get a day's worth of prep). A large swarm of giant mutant flies (around 30) has swarmed over the heaps of carrion north of the trench, not attacking unless disturbed. It rains heavily later that night for about a half hour.  The Grugach blue and black hordes have regrouped and moved camp about a mile from the fort. The camps are separated by about 300 yards of distance. Overall they seem to have tightened things up: pickets are posted around the camps and patrols are moving around in the forest around the camps. In the morning you see two large bands of bow-equipped Blue Horde Grugach swim across both branches of the river on both the west and east banks. Because it's a slow operation (the current being strong), it takes them most of the morning and they haven't moved forward by the time the session curtain comes up.  Your forces: 9 units of Pikemen 2 units of Rarog 1 unit of Walking Wet

If you are not aware (oh honored members of the Nine), I am getting ready to run another jousting tourney (flailsnails compatible). I swear, if this turns into another freakin' love fest between contestants I am going to freak out. : ) Seriously, we need heels, not a bunch high fallutin', prim and proper Knights whose horses shit don't stink. Dammit.  Sorry, just had to vent somewhat publicly.  Oh, and for those who haven't entered, I am giving away real prizes this time around. So come be a heel and give those dandies an ear full.

So here's the situation report as the session begins tomorrow.

So here's the situation report as the session begins tomorrow. Note that though the action is paused I'm going to give any and all players (including those who won't be at tomorrow's session) a free night's worth of activity before the Grugach assault.  Your forces: 180 Ostrovan Pikemen (veterans, half-plate, long pikes) 50 (?) Walking Wet Slimezombies (weapons?) 40 Rarog (fire dwarves, 4 HD with some mean special attacks) Suspected Grugach forces (there seems to be serious friction between the bands): Red Horde, 900-1100 mounted on elk, lances, some composite bows Green Horde, 500-700 mounted on elk Black Horde, 200-300 mounted on elk

Hold The Fort: Counter-Grugach Planning

Hold The Fort: Counter-Grugach Planning For Reference:  https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsr4BBouLNHwiVsb7E_rTNiA0xHq6NuFZeDI_AKWiu-BwoCuHlrKTV8OQCpZQJzp__srP0SUAUoAsaPJhwf_dH0ZNAft51p87lsveGVr_0jcAxRv9PPIiLYglJrf9-a3FSg4HnKNP6_CE/s1600/Feral+Shore+May+2014.png We've got ~3000 grugach coming against some ~200 troops at the fort. We cannot win in a direct engagement, our supplies are going to last only so long, and I don't think the fort is that secure. On the other hand, we can (generally) channel the Grugach into attacking from one direction, we've primarily got a pike force against cavalry, we've seen no evidence of any spellcasters in their camp, and we're a whole bunch of sneaky bastards. Rest of this post is premised on the idea that we're not suddenly legging it. That's a whole different set of factors to consider (and I'm sure some folks already have, in great and exacting detail :) ).  So, we need to focus on: * concentr

Yo all.

Yo all. My throat is stupid hoarse at this point so I'm going to cancel the game tonight. Gives you a breather at least in terms of a plan for the Grugach.

i might have dropped out when it was talked about, is there a game this week.
