What Ba Chim's spy tells you about Il Tasi'in Il Tasi'in, a thick-walled town of 3000, is the seat of power for one of the the most isolated of the borderland satrapies of the Scarlet Sultanate. Located on the east coast just after the shoreline turns south, it is a bare 60 miles from the Xobi, the cold rocky southern desert in the Weird. The town which is dominated by the two raised quartz-dome hills called the Teats of Manat was formerly called Manawat and was deeply associated with the worship of that chthonic goddess (who is said to have ruled over fate itself and “sapped the self-will and value of Men”). The ruling satrap is like other borderlands satraps both a highly-positioned courtier and necromancer, an important role in the maintenance of the undead-worked plantation system (more about Industrial Necromancy in a blog post). Ul-Namihirra is generally considered to be a deeply incompetent in both his expected roles but survives politically by his ability to shift...
solid idea.
ReplyDeletethen incorporate so we can get an enterprise version of G+. ;)
ReplyDeleteDiscord
ReplyDeleteThat sounds very much in keeping in spirt with this play group.
ReplyDeleteI’m genuine sad—and concerned about all the collected data/pictures/memories here
ReplyDeleteMaybe port it all to FB or Slack??
ReplyDeleteMan, I ain't know how to farm! I grew up on one and still don't know come here from sick 'em.
ReplyDeleteThe problem I've seen with things like Discord or Slack, etc. is that it's a great chat platform but because they don't have posts, like G+ or Facebook, I kind of just ignore everything everyone says.
ReplyDeleteThe big thing is it needs to be something with a scheduling feature.
ReplyDelete"i ain't gonna work on Markéta's farm no more"
ReplyDeletethe lack of a post/thread/chat distinction in Discord looks like it has very frustrating negative impacts on its utility
ReplyDeleteChris Kutalik i think you'll be able to download your own post and communities, but it's very frustrating that i'm gonna have to go and like Screencap for example the Gammahawk thread
ReplyDeleteI keep seeing "MeWe" as an option...we've moved a small lifeboat over to Discord for a few folks, but yeah, it's straight-up chat/messaging.
ReplyDeleteMeWe looks optimal as it's like Facebook but without anyone I'm related to or work with!
ReplyDeletethe very word "MeWe" fills me with idiot fury
ReplyDeleteShould've gone with I-Us. I'm confused by the whole singular object/plural subject deal.
ReplyDeleteThough I still think it's better than Discord, in terms of functionality. Whatever people choose, it'll be a nice experience in bottom-up community emergence!
ReplyDeletemewe.com - MeWe: The best chat & group app with privacy you trust. See "How can MeWe be free and make money?" which makes no sense, but OK.
ReplyDeleteCrap, when is this happening?
ReplyDelete10 months from now.
ReplyDeleteSo we have some time to figure out an alternative. Jeez, this sucks (though I guess we knew this was coming eventually).
ReplyDeleteMaybe a non-public subreddit?
ReplyDeleteFarm Commune is good - but can wee do that in New Zealand? I have a bad feeling about how the US will be treating collectives in the near-term.
I'm sort of surprised by the fact that the commune idea above was the first thing I've read today that actually made me feel like I could breathe properly again. As long as we're moving though, it would probably be best if it wasn't in the United States. Just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteWell, we can load up on guns and go challenge a cartel for some arable land in Mexico, I guess.
ReplyDeleteor would could all just start or keep blogging i guess
ReplyDeleteI hear Chris has an empty house in San Anton.
ReplyDeleteCan the yard grow beets?
ReplyDeleteIt’s a quarter acre so we could get a decent garden going
ReplyDeleteAll right, all right. So now all we need are matching jumpsuits and some cheap lumber so we can build shitty bunks for everyone .
