Cross-posting Chris Kutalik 's most recent post, for 3/15 and 3/22:

Two takes from recent Hill Cantons  games for the price of one. We have spent the last four sessions catching back up with the high-mid-level Nefarious Nine side of the campaign in the Feral Shore.

Much of that campaign revolves around protecting and expanding the party's outpost colony. Crystal spires have been popping up outside the cleared wilderness, reanimating old foes like the elk-riding grugach horde and the demon-astronaut crew of the Rusevin.

After a couple sessions dealing with that menace the party got back to micro-exploration, this time moseying over to a massive, radioactive “tail-like” section of an inter-dimensional vessel.

Highlights
Using Fly, radiation-proof “silver suits” and ropes the party gained access to a cylindrical structure 180-feet in the air.

Finding (and killing) a still-breathing human crewman in an (un)powered exoskeleton with two serpent-like creatures pinned under his arms.

Finding a dimensional rent in the vessel that seemingly gave into the Hot Hell.

Floating down the central tail shaft tube to a section of the vessel.

Finding larger rents that show the vessel orbiting in a starry nebula between two dimensional planes (other vessels can be seen in the distance).

Retreating from a buzz-saw-wielding construct (unseen) saying “primary HR directive: rightsize personnel.”

Confiscating silver bars from what appears to be an industrial 3D printer.

Exploring crawlspaces inside a machine section of the vessel.

First Session (3/15)
Critters killed:
3 Reanimated Flaming Eyeball Astro-Demon Middle Officers

Swag Acquired:
1 300lb industrial exoskeleton (unpowered)

Exp per Player (includes exploration bonus): 760

Second Session (3/22)
Critters Killed:
1 Reanimated Amorphoid
1 One-Armed Undead Repairman

Swag Acquired:
14 high-grade silver bars (worth 200 each, I misread the value during the session)

Broken off, industrial process blade (d8+2)

Exp per player: 950

  1. Would it be helpful to retro-post takes here? I mean it's a big undertaking but potentially worthwhile.

  2. I think the bookkeeping sheet is up to speed, so listing the old takes is likely more hassle than it's worth.

  3. One thing if folks are looking for old takes is to go to Gplus search and type "hill cantons" (with the quotation marks) and "take" and then sort by most recent. I deliberately keep the first sentence formulaic as it seems to pull them up consistently that way.
