  1. Do we know what the ensorcellation is on the spear and sword?

  2. Not without an Identify spell. The amorphoid merchant assures you that it is not cursed (at least that is what you think he says) and emanates "good magic."

  3. Uh, this sounds cool, whatever the fuck it is.

  4. So I'm seeing three must-buy items (given our current funds): a steel tool set for lubos-hunting, a mallet, and some Erol Otus helmets. Because duh.

  5. Robert Parker the party found a market run by amorphoids (creatures like Sluggo) and Wormy Goblins. The currency is based on lubos, drilled pieces of a giant snail shell. Last session they hunted down two of them for 280 Lubos.

  6. How much do they buy things for? e.g. a set of standard chain (70gp in the AEC) or a standard shield (10gp in the AEC).

  7. Roughly 1/4th to 1/10th of the listed price depending on item. So that chain armor would net 7-15 Lubos.

  8. I am going to rule that it is sufficiently light that a thief or mountebank over third level can use it. Relevant to Evan Elkins too then

  9. Cool. So, can the party spare 30 links?

  10. Short answer: yes.

Long answer: We have 280 lubos total atm. The only must-purchase thing besides chitin is a better set of tools, whether iron or steel. We will need funds for going and hunting more ur-lubos snails, and for bribery/negotiations, but that can certainly deal with 60 lubos for better armor.
