So on Evan Elkins 's Warhammer post, Reynaldo Madriñan raised the idea of a Flailsnails army list for Warhammer or the equivalent, with the armies coming from people's settings. (Eld forces, White Lady forces, etc.).
Seems like this would be great fodder for a series of By This Axe army lists.

Yes yes
ReplyDeleteMy WARBAND! army wins hands down. Power armor, chain swords, boltguns. You guys are so screwed.
ReplyDeleteMike Davison It would be interesting to pit WARBAND! boltguns against, say, an Eld bubblecraft.
ReplyDeleteWhich means I need an errata and expansion of the point system (which I've been wanting to do anyway).
ReplyDeleteAkenians have Magitech nonsense going on too...
ReplyDeleteNow that I think about it I suppose each of my warrior society posts could be regarded as a unit type for Straits of Anián:
ReplyDelete● War Makers (Silent, Tough)
● Growling Ones (Blood Tracking, Dog-shifting)
● Cannibal Dancers (Rage, Freezing Winds)
And the as yet unposted:
● Gravetenders (Ghost Summoning, True Naming)
● Skeleton Dancers (Ancestral Memory, Treetop Wuxia)
● Quartz Disciples (Leadership, Thunder Voice)
● Twins (Trickery, Monster Slaying)
From what little I've seen, there exists some amount of Battle of Sitka & battles leading up to it in the Russian minis scene, so relevant models exist. There's also some from a couple recent kickstarters:

No idea on the Russian ones. Also haven't looked into the KS guy so dunno if he's crazy or what, though I did see John Till imply he was culturally insensitive or something the other day which was amusing to me.
(Note his recent KS was unsuccessful but there was a previous successful one with many of the same models.)
ReplyDeleteThe first two links in the main.
ReplyDeleteYeah same guy. Those are pics from his earlier Kickstarter.
ReplyDeletethose whalers are really cool
ReplyDeleteAnthony Picaro what scale are those?
ReplyDeleteAh, 28mm. Curses.
ReplyDeleteCould also go 15mm
