Because I'm likely to miss things in threads (in laws are in town) any questions you want to put to NPCs in Kezmarok before the session should go here.

  1. Copied from the other thread:

Since they've already been meeting, Lazzaro will go ahead and ask Grandma Gaya:

    1) if she knows of any means of halting or delaying the rapidly accelerating apotheosis of Ummas the Unctious,

    2) if she has any suggestions as to how best to go about murdering him,

    3) whether or not that would significantly empower the similar deification of Uloysalik IX and/or Prince Vdelko, and

    4) if so how to prevent that.

  2. Somebody should visit the Decade King (probably Humza Kazmi or Robert Parker).

  3. Actually Evan Elkins is probably the best one for visiting the D-K since he is already the Seneschal, but I am happy to go along.

  4. "Somebody should visit the Decade King"
Lady Isris has that scabbard who can detect alignment.. she would like to go along.

  5. Let me know if you use that or who visits him.

  6. Anthony Picaro she answers:
    1. His growing power is disquieting, my dear, but his growing sickness of the mind disturbing. Killing him now would make your dear grandmother so very happy.

    2. Perhaps a few pieces of that Rod, hmm? Or a great weapon perhaps of the Eld?

  7. 3. No I doubt that but that is a more subtle menace there.

  8. Might be worth asking GG if there is some way to preserve Lower Kezmarok.

  9. Find the Rod of Seven Parts
    recover the Golden Barge
    kill Lady Szara
    finish exploring Bad Rajetz

Nothing we do is ever good enough for Grandma ;p

Humza Kazmi I believe we asked that last week. Basically her suggestion was to kill the Patriarch.

  10. So let's say that yes Lady Isris and Ba Chim at least go to visit Uloysalik IX and also yes the scabbard is used to Know Alignment on him.

The line of questioning Lazzaro recommends is basically, "Man, what is up with that Patriarch guy, eh?"

And if the response given is anything that suggests that the Patriarch's ascension is at all a bad thing then follow it up with, "Ok,, how do you recommend we kill this guy? Because we are totally willing to kill this guy."

  11. Sounds good, on board with this.

  12. I will speak to my scabbard before going to see Uloysalik, and ask her to plumb the depths of his moral compass while we're talking with him.

  13. 1. The DK exhibits a strong aura of lawful goodness. You could swear that he winks at you for a fraction of a second.

Speaking of the Patriarch he says, "Ummas was a good man and a loyal servant of our Most Puissant Sun Lord, but his haughtiness has made him a fool. Forces beyond his control are tearing him apart and death is too simple solution I fear (and a poor political alternative he is still the Patriarch of all the Ultra-Orthodox, godling-crazed or not).

  14. (not to the D-K)

I think there is at most one person in the party who's a Sun-Lord follower. (Not including hirelings of course.)

  15. It would seem that we are His agents regardless of our personal religious biases. Lazzaro has no issues with that; we can be equally as pragmatic about the situation as He.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Isris is firmly a member of Team DK now. She gossips about him with her scabbard later, in private.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Michael Moscrip the scabbard thinks he's "hot."

    ReplyDelete
  18. "Did you notice his sword?! And I think he winked at me."

    ReplyDelete
  19. What solution would the Decade King then recommend?

    ReplyDelete
  20. A wink at an alignment test, plus a D-K who has been acting shifty and suspicious and not particularly LG does not strike me as a correct read.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'm inclined to consider the Decade King LG by definition if not by action, cosmic matters seeming to weigh more heavily than behaviors in the HC.

That said, while knowing whether or not he's deceiving us on that might be useful in the long run, at the moment it doesn't really have any effect on my own immediate plans.

I'm honestly stumped here. Should we go after Ummas? More importantly, can we? Or should we flee to the relative safety of the Rusevin?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Behaviors are indeed secondary (not wholly irrelevant but secondary) to what you pick as your "cosmic team" in the HC.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Unless I've become uncharacteristically poor at interpreting Chris Kutalik 's 'body language', the wink meant "I know you're detecting alignment on me", not "I'm screwing with you, and I'm so powerful I want to gloat about it." heh

  24. I parsed it as "a worthy effort, but futile."
