Hey Chris Kutalik I'm starting to get the hankering for some original spell research for BC . Given my luck with the dice, I'm thinking some sort of reroll or Advantage* power.
What level would you treat a spell reading something like "make the next 1d4 attacks with advantage / reroll"? Or alternatively, something simpler like "reroll your next missed attack"?

So something like a "luck" spell? I think the trade off could be that it:1. Has a long duration but a single use or 2. Has a few uses but a small window of use. What do you think?
ReplyDeleteBoth of those seem pretty good to me. I'd probably be minded for the long-duration, single-use option, so that I could at least get ONE good hit in.

ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm thinking I'd like to make a second or third level spell. (Probably don't have enough funds for full-on research yet, but I want to try and figure out how much I should budget.)
ReplyDeleteI am gonna say that it's third level. Since you have no such spell currently that I will take mercy on you and say that it only costs you roughly what a scroll of that level costs (so 50 times 3d4). Let's say it's ready in two weeks.
ReplyDeleteOK, sounds good. I'll probably "start research" once I get a bit more dosh (still need to recuperate from the spending spree to get to L5).
